New York Governor ends Mask mandate. Keeps Mandate for Schools

In an announcement regarding mask mandates New York Governor Kathy Hochul said, ” New Yorkers. This is tremendous progress we have been waiting for. After 2 long years and we are not done, but this is trending in a very very good direction. That is why we are entering a new phase in this pandemic. We had a mask or vax requirement. It was an emergency, temporary measure. In place literally two months ago and at this time we say the right decision is too lift this mandate.”

Some have speculated this is due to the recent freedom convoy protests going on in Canada. While others suggest the science has changed and considering the recent Johns Hopkins Meta-Analysis study regarding the effectiveness of lock-downs and mandates. In which reveals that only 0.2% of Covid deaths were prevented because of government measures.
